Don't just say it, name them!John Lewis, for example, stocks a reasonable range (if not cheap), and Ikea have a range that is cheaper but possibly not the very latest specification. There are several good online shops if a very specific lamp specification is required.
Again, don't just say it, name them!
I've done a lot of research and haven't found any.
I suspect that posters who vaguely claim there are UK sources have never actually checked to see what is available globally and hence assume that just because a UK source has a lot of lamps they must cover the complete gamut of what is available. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

If you live in London, also Ryness (actual shops).I've checked both of these. They have nothing like the range available from fleabay suppliers.I suspect that posters who vaguely claim there are UK sources have never actually checked to see what is available globally and hence assume that just because a UK source has a lot of lamps they must cover the complete gamut of what is available.0 -
Some of the older ones use a sizeable proportion of that guarantee period to come up to full light output...0

The other thing to take in to account is that in the case of a retailer offering an extended guarantee, will they still be in business that far in the future.
The same problem might also exist with manufacturers unless you are talking about one of the biggies such as Osram or Philips.0 -

So I dug out the receipt - Spammy has a filing cabinet and keeps receipts by month because I am a true MSE in that respect.
Now we come to the crunch, I bought two of these bulbs from POUNDLAND.
If you still have the box that has the 10 year claim, then you look up how much a new bulb with a 10 year guarantee would cost, and write to Poundland asking for the difference in price between what they sold you and what it will cost you to buy a replacement item.
If you take it back to Poundland you'll only get £1 back.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

absolutely!I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
I took a dead CFL back to Tesco and got it replaced with no quibble. I can't remember how long it lasted, but it was nothing like 10 years.0

None of these even come close. What is it that you are looking for?
Here's just a single example: 12W 'corn cob' warm white bayonet fit.It may well be that there is a market/technology/compliance issue with the supply of lamps you are looking at in the UK.
I really don't care what the reason is. I said I had to get them as imports and was told I was talking ****. Clearly by someone who didn't know what they were talking about. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I don't think it's unreasonable that when you asked about a random and unspecified type of lamp I/others should assume that it would be one that is legal for sale and safe for use in the UK.0 -

Except that they evidently don't.
There were various items I wanted that were not available from UK suppliers that I was able to source as imports from ebay.I doubt you'll ever find "Corn cob" style mains voltage lamps for official UK sale. "Corn cob" suggests that the LEDs would be exposed, which is not allowed due to shock risk.
Not at all, it's possible to put a glass envelope around them and there is no more risk of shock than from any other bulb.I said nothing of the sort.
I didn't say you did. That was someone elseI don't think it's unreasonable that when you asked about a random and unspecified type of lamp I/others should assume that it would be one that is legal for sale and safe for use in the UK.
If you want to stick your oar in, try reading the thread. I wasn't asking anyone about anything.
I merely made an observation that there are certain types of lamp that you can only get from somewhere like ebay, and any long term warranty issued with them would be pretty much worthless. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
