its freezing up at the back... and im assuming its the temp thing not knowing when its cold enough... i got the temp thing (technical term i know) replaced recently and this freezing thing started soon after... im told its probably not been fitted properly and should be an easy fix...
my question is HOW!? and can i really fix this myself?

if you mean the thermostat has been replaced recently, they could have replaced the connections back wrongly, so that the motor is on all the time,
check at intervals to see if motor is switching off,if not, that is your problem.0 -
Have you tried turning the thermostat down?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

it shouldnt need replacing though as weve had that done quite recently.. it may have been fitted incorrectly and that's what i want to check..
it seems to me, from reading that other thread, that it must be 'stuck closed' as everything is getting frozen... how do i make it work properly?
thanks all0 -

Have to agree with this if the thermostat has been replaced recently. Either that or the fyall(spelling?)which looks like a bit of wire, is not properly clamped to the evaporator.
Has it been freezing up ever since the new stat was fitted <.0 -
Wallofbeans,
Generally two things will cause it to overfreeze after a stat replacement, which is what I've picked up here so correct me if I'm wrong.
The first is a wiring error, can't help you with that as it's a case of sitting down with a test meter and working it out usually.
Next is the phial (the temp probe bit) not correctly sited on the evaporator or wall of the unit.
This assumes that you didn't kink or break the phial on the stat as, if you did, you broke the new stat irreparably.
