anyone please can confirm if i can use MOT "Vehicle Identification Number as VIN for V62? thanks
  • VIN will be on a sticker/plate under the bonnet, and also etched/riveted/printed and visible in the bottom right hand corner of the windscreen (unless the car's a million years old). Should be the same VIN as on the MOT but best to check. If it's not, then maybe you should start checking the rest of the car's provenance too.

Why do you need to send off a V62 with the V5C/2? Are you changing VED class? Lost the V5? Bought a car without a V5?

So you've had it a month and now are sorting out the paperwork. Have you taxed the car in that time?

Read my post again. I've told you where to find it on the car. You should check that both the car and the other paperwork are consistent.

Look under the bonnet on the bulkhead for the VIN number.

As said, read the actual VIN on the car, 99.99% of the time the MOT will be perfectly correct, but you do want to check what is on this paperwork free car.

zak2012 - Both the seller and the new owner need to sent parts from the V5C to DVLA separately.

    Wrong I am afraid.

Only the seller needs to send the V5C off the the DVLA, the new keeper has the green "New Keeper" section of the V5

If it is different then I would be worried as you clearly didnt check the VIN against the V5 before you bought it.
