Credit Card PPI claim

I had difficulty paying my credit card bill so defaulted but then came to arrangements with the lenders to pay back monthly, these have nearly all been paid off and will be in the next 2 months.
Previously I've successfully reclaimed PPI from Natwest and AA loans so today have put in claims against credit cards from AA, Mint and American Express.
Usual reasons -
probably couldn't claim as had good sickness and redundancy cover from work.
Not sure if the box was pre-ticked.
Not aware that similar or better policies were available for a much more competitive price
I'll update any success in the coming weeks

Just so you are aware, banks can offset any PPI refund against money written off or unpaid from defaults.
Your usual reasons are, to be blunt, bunk though
1) Unless the PPI would not pay out in addition to the work sickness benefits that is moot. No-one has "good" redundancy pay from work, best you can reliably state is statutory - if you had any sort of beneficial payments in your contract it would be taxable
2) Unless the firm used pre-ticked boxes (which they know the dates of) then this is pure speculation. Suggesting they might have miss-sold on this basis is a gamble
3) This is not a complaint reason at all, you don't go into Tesco and expect them to tell you your goods would be cheaper at Aldi
Good luck with it, you may get lucky on an auto-payout of the figure is low, you might even avoid any off-setting. If the figure was high though, expect to be asked to prove your work benefitsSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

2 of 3 claims were upheld by the credit card providers, with the refunds totaling £13,000. (from Amex and Bank Of Scotland)
I would encourage others to reclaim themselves, at worst you waste 30 minutes of you time and a stamp
I have already paid off any outstanding amounts in full, no reduced amounts or IVA.0
