If only Orange had been honest the first time...

So...
I followed Martin's advice and called various companies in January to see if I could get my bills down.
One of these companies was Orange, who I have been with for about 15 years.
I spoke to a woman in disconnections and explained the reason why I was phoning was that my OH is getting exactly the same deal as me for £20 less.
The only difference is that I was getting a "free" GB of data to give me 2GB.
The lady was very nice, understood exactly what I meant and told me that she would reduce my bill to match my OHs. She explained that Februarys bill would be my normal as I had already started February's billing cycyle.
Fast forward to March and my bill is still as high. So I phoned Orange to see if there had been a problem.
Basically, the guy on the phone apologised and said that it appeared that the woman in January had lied to me and they couldn't offer me that deal. It's just not even possible.
I feel really bad for the poor lad I spoke to and the woman that he passed me on to as they had to clear up a mess the January woman has made.
Long story short... My contract is up in July and after 15 years, I will now be leaving Orange.
Extremely disappointed, not that they can't give me the same deal as my OH because I understand that... but more that one of their staff has lied to me.
If only they had been honest the first time then they would have probably kept my custom for another few years.
Sorry, just needed to rant after that phone call. I didn't want to be nasty to the people on the phone as it wasn't their fault.
