Suggestions needed for a preemie quilt pattern please
Options
Long time no see!
there is a possibility that our next grandchild will be a preemie, poss as soon as 32-34 wks. The baby is already small and there is concern over development etc.
I have always either knit or crochet a blanket for all of our other grandchildren as newborns. This is different and we don't know what the future will hold. I really want to have a blanket/quilt ready so I can cuddle him/her in it no matter what in a grandma blanket. I have brushed flannel and access to a nice cotton fabric shop close to home. Any ideas would be wonderful
All could be well, just small baby but equally all might not be. The doctors aren't certain yet and they are doing all they can for the pregnancy. I have hopefully at least 3 wks to get sewing done. I was already making a blanket before she became concerned last week. But my blanket isn't the right style for a preemie.

Oh how special. What a lovely idea.
I had to act quick, just in case, and found an idea and completed it today. I'm not a quilter but I am pleased with the end result. Probably lots of mistakes but very much a project of love.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
I saw how so many had read this post and felt it rude not to update you.
Our darling granddaughter slipped into our family 2 weeks ago. She is perfect. No health issues just needs to grow a little as she had virtually stopped growing. She weighed 2lb 14oz and has already gained 7oz. We are amazed at how wonderful she is doing. She is simply small but bo other problems. The doctors are thrilled with her progress. She is now in a normal incubator and as of today she has started breast feeding like a dream. We are one very blessed family.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
Just browsing through threads and came across your recent post.
I am so pleased that your little grand-daughter is doing well. She must be a tough little fighter
I wish you and your family lots of love, peace and happiness, and may God continue to bless you all.2025 Fashion on the ration

Thank you so much. I was priviledged to see her come into the world and to be able to tell her mummy that she was ok. A very special moment and I am so grateful my daughter and lovely son in law invited me to share this moment.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Well this little lady is amazing. She came home at 3 weeks weighing just 3lb 12oz. She is 60% breast fed and rest tube fed with her mums milk. Simply our family miracle.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
