    Hello money savers,
A few frugal bits from me today:
*Switched everything off I could get away with. Only just put downstairs heating on. Such a lovely sunny morning, but it suddenly dropped very cold mid afternoon. Big cardi back on!
*Dug over another big flowerbed for today's fitness & planted out several more free foxgloves & aquilegias which had self-seeded. I love free plants.
*Sowed more seeds - marigolds, which were free seed, plus aubergines, cucumbers & 2 types of lettuce.
*Posted 2 eBay parcels. It was a bit odd at the post office, as it appeared I was being told that one of the parcels was going to cost more than I'd calculated. I have a tried & tested system for pricing my eBay postage which is rarely wrong. I was a bit argumentative, but paid......then when I got home & looked at the receipt, I'd been charged the amount I thought it should be. Think the original price I was given must have been an estimate done 'by eye' before she'd weighed it. Bit weird feeling I'd been arsey for nothing.
*Dinner is the turkey mince I made yesterday with jackets & broccoli. This is a 'free' meal as I didn't realise there'd be meat left after I'd made yesterday's burgers. Have rolled the meal I'd planned to cook to next week.
*Defrosted home made creamy onion soup for Mr f's pack-up tomorrow.
*Received bank statement in post. Tried 2 months of 'paperless' & it didn't suit me. I didn't realise how many notes I write on my statements, & I may as well get the bank to print them as use my own ink. Printer cartridges are such an expensive rip-off & seem to run out in no time.
*Tonight will aim to finish library book so it can go back. Have started new knitting project but it currently requires no distractions until I get used to the pattern, as have never knitted a lacy pattern on circular needles before.
*Did ironing & to save electricity, the bed linen all got as little of an iron as I could get away with.....given that I don't like getting into a raggy bed.
So, not one of my biggest days for money saving, but I kept the faith.
Nice, as always to see what you're all up to.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Every one
    Sorry I ve been missing
work has been hell so it been eat sleep work repeat .
I was sent a text from a co worker to say they were sorry how they had been treating me grr I was only off 4-5 weeks.
I did say this would happen it sad as I would do any thing for any one.
I ve managed to set a few hours at a different dept so fingers crossed I get good feedback and a possible move I can only but dream Hope you are all getting better how the shop doing Bob xxx

Im sorry to hear work is a bad environment for you. I really hope a move of department is possible. Can you also move jobs to another organisation?

Thanks for asking LPP, its a funny one. I feel very anxious about getting back into old patterns, and really want to fight to finally make a life for myself not just a ball and chain which is what a small business can feel like some times. In the bad times before, I was struggling to pay myself anything, which I simply cannot afford. I was getting behind on the wages, which is hideous believe me. I was constantly behind on the main business accounts, energy bills, you name it I was behind on it at some point. However, the customers when they came, loved it, and the support that has been outpouring since reopening has been incredible. But thank yous dont pay the bills as they say! Sorry long post. Bet you wish you'd never asked now :D

Wow only just sat down! Tonight I've made homemade minted lamb burgers, 2x Thai curries and 2x cottage pies (using up a bag of potatoes which were turning funny!) funnily enough I've then taken something out the freezer for dinner tomorrow! Ha ha!

Hoping I'll be worn out enough now to actually get a decent nights sleep! Managed to stay in my own bed last night but was still awake at gone 12! I don't function well without my full 8 hours!

Hope you've all had a good day!

Oh and aren't bcard naughty people!

So in October i negotiated a decrease in my interest on the balance of my cc from 19.9% to 6.9%. However my latest statement showed I was charge £20 more interest than last month when the balance had only increased by £20 (work expenses). Turns out that the payments I've been making have been clearing the balance first rather than the new purchases (should have cleared purchases first) meaning that I'd effectively used up the balance and so had gone back up to 19.9% on the whole amount outstanding! Hope that makes sense (it does in my head anyway!) however I did have to speak to some very unhelpful person who just kept saying numbers at me but not actually getting my point! Once transferred to someone else it was quite simple to explain myself!

Good job I now keep an eye on things!

Wow twiggy! You do have to keep a eye on those things, they are sneaky sometimes. Have you managed to get on the reduced amount?

I just called them back in October, asked if there was anything they could do and they agreed to reduce the balance to 6.9% for two years. I think they offered me some other options which could have helped if I still used the card a lot. I would say it's worth a phone call. I really worked myself up for a battle with them, but they were actually very helpful! I know some people didn't get very far with them but worth a try as it's made a massive difference to the interest I'm paying (well when they get it right anyway!)

At risk of sounding like Dixon of Dock Green... Evening all :)

Breakfast from my drawer store, lunch was the leftovers of DS's curry and dinner was from the freezer.

Have just realised that if I sell my house to the couple that have offered on it I need to get them to drop their offer by £50 (or even a pound!) which will take me down into the lower fee bracket and save me over £1,000. Not sure how the estate agent is going to take it but I've not found anything to buy so they can lump it or I'll take it off the market.
