So I have now confirmed that credit checks by letting agents will only usually flag up an IVA, Bankruptcy or CCJ and I have none of those so think I will be able to move in a few months without worrying about that side of things. Barclaycard accepted my informal payment offer but I've yet to received anything in the post from them about it and I am still hopeful they will default me. I've decided to leave that until the end of May before I consider chasing them up on it.
We sold a leather chair we never use, yesterday. We bought a lovely leather sofa and chair at an auction for £60 two years ago. It was brand new, bought by an elderly person from M&S for £1000 before she passed away and we were one of only two bidders. We had been prepared to go up to £150 for the set but outbid the other person at £60. We sold the chair alone for £200 yesterday on Ebay which was brilliant and really adds to our moving fund.
My wife's auntie has confirmed she's bought tickets for flights to the Alps for Christmas. My wife and I will be taking our then 10-month old with us for a first holiday abroad. We're only paying for food and the flights (£120 return for us all, which I thought was cheap!) and then whatever food is gonna cost on top. Lucky to get such a cheap deal. The ski lodge we're all staying in in the Alps is being paid for too, she has very generous family.
Well that's all for today I think. I've worked one bank holiday and four rest days this month, equivalent to 8 hours double time and 36 hours time and a half meaning I should get a whopping £800 or so in overtime at the end of May, just in time for us to move in June if we're lucky. Fingers crossed!Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!

Had a letter from Moorcroft today offering me a settlement figure for my MBNA credit card which is about 60% the outstanding balance. I just wish I had that kind of money to settle it now! Never mind, keep on keeping on!Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!

Hi,
Egg paid out PPI voluntarily a few years ago. A company called Canada Square dealt with it. I'm away at the moment, not home until next week but can look out details then if you still need them?
Good luck with the move BTW!0 -
Hi, I got the PPI refund on my loans, but the credit cards are dealt with by Barclaycard. Will see what happens with them!
In the meantime, have had confirmation from my credit union that they will continue to accept my reduced payments for another 12 months. Fingers crossed something special happens over the next year and I can pay off some of my creditors with lump sums!Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!
