DP or SP sockets

Hi,

I've had the electrics redone in my house and want to swap the plastic white fronts for the switches for chrome ones.

How do I tell if we need DP or SP sockets?

Thanks!

Both types are "compatible". I'd spend the extra two pence on getting the double pole versions, though. Amazed anyone buys the single pole type given the tiny price differences and the fact some manufacturers don't make 'em anymore.

Double pole all the way - double pole isolates both the live and neutral, whereas single pole only isolates the live*.

    * assuming its wired in right - wire it wrongly and it'll be switching the neutral and the socket will always be live!
