Too much credit?

Arguable for a new credit card application (though even then I would doubt it) but not for a mortgage application. I refuse to believe that a mortgage company would prefer anything other than a model customer.Leafeysurrey wrote: »I agree Jimmy however credit conduct may just swing a later mortgage decision. The original poster has only been in the UK 7 months and, if they are paying off the full amount each month on each card, then their entire UK credit history is running at a loss to lenders. They may take that on board.0 -

Thanks for all the advice guys - I'm sorry if that came out the wrong way, I was just referring to the available credit / salary ratio and wondering what effect that will have on my future credit prowess.0 -
It's not a troll, it's what's called a "humblebrag" wherein someone shows off about their good situation by worrying/complaining about it. Cardsguy obviously works in finance/consulting/the city some occupation where he will get a fairly substantial bonus (hence why he gave a band instead of single figure for his salary).
My advice to him would be aware that things change, I was on 46k at 23 but it's not forever
I currently work in IT and moved to the UK for the job - mostly for the international experience and because I wanted to work for this employer.0 -

I don't think he is trying to brag as that salary isn't anything worth bragging about.0 -

You are correct - unfortunately London is rather expensive and I am feeling priced out of zone 3 right now.0 -
A brag? this sounds to me more like jealousy on the part of others!
Whats wrong? Eastern European come over here and took all the money???
Here is a good idea, skill up, learn up, grow up, and find a job that pays more money if your not happy on what you earn!
People would complain if (eastern european) guy came over here and collected benefits, as it is, he is paying higher rate of tax.
I hated my last job on 77k a year, now i earn 95k a year, still cant get a mortgage though! money isn't everything but being wise enough to place yourself in the right position at the right time to buy a home is best policy. The poster should be commended for being bright and clever enough to read ahead!0
