Again, irrelevant. No-one is saying they can't just that there is no reason they should put themselves at a competitive disadvantage by wasting one of their four tariffs on a tariff structure that is of use only to customers who do not cover the costs of supply and that no other standard supplier supplies. npower have withdrawn this structure from their fixes -it is only left on the Standard tariff - similar to First Utility who have recently abandoned a very low standing charge.I note you have responded to a limited part of my reply so I have taken the liberty to copy from the Npower web site as of today's date the following :-
And for the OP's situation the ideal tariff structure has been banned by Ofgem - two tier would have allowed them to pay nothing in quarters where nothing is done but then only pay a capped standing charge when renovations take place - whereas with Ebico this would be uneconomic (especially for electricity).0
