Vital information not passed to me by company I have shares in.

Upon checking in London Stock Exchange today I've seen text suggesting that a company who partly owns or certainly has an interest in the company I have shares has been delisted from Stock Exchange without informing me and now the share price has really shot down. There's talk of the Co going in to liquidation.
Is is though, the typical share story or should I have been advised earlier to be able to at least grace.
Can anyone advise me on this.
Should I bite the bullet or see if I have a case or something here?
Thanks

I can't see any reason why the company would need to inform you directly. It's your responsibility as a shareholder to check rns info about your holdings. If you're not interested in that then maybe shares aren't for you.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

I appreciate your response.

Why would you have a "case"? Who would pay you anything and why?
If I own shares in a company that you also own shares in, do I have to tell you that I'm a bit short of cash and need a bank loan? It might mean that I'm about to sell my shareholding which is probably not good for the share price because it means there is a new seller without necessarily a new buyer to match. But if so, tough luck.
If I had printed this news in a paper or announced it on Twitter, what could you have done about it? You couldn't have sold your shares before everyone else also noticed and sold too, driving the price down before you could do anything about it. We can't all give you information on our comings and goings to allow you to plan your actions before the market has noticed. If we did, it would not be fair.0 -
A share in a company is not like a savings account. You could lose 100% of your investment if the company goes into administration.
Whether it is de-listed doesn't change much. A listed company's shares can still fall to almost zero if the information in the market is bad enough. Sometimes that can happen quickly but often the signs of trouble are visible many months beforehand.
If you want the possible returns from owning a share then you have to accept the risks and some responsibility to take actions if the share seems to be doing poorly. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

If I'm reading this correctly. Why would you be informed about a Company that you hold no interest in.0
