Recycling cartridges for cash

Hi All,
Ever considered recycling waste toner cartridges for cash ? If so , be very careful if you deal with Takeback Ltd.
On 8th Jan, they collected from me 120 cartridges, to which they gave a value of £32; after waiting 2 months for payment, they have now told me that I'm not actually entitled to any cash, as the cartridges were 'damaged'. Yet, the value that they gave of £32, was (so they told me) having first allowed for some damaged cartridges. But now, all are damaged. In a nutshell, for a long time, I've collected toner cartridges for many months, only to find that 'all' are now 'damaged' - shysters - steer well clear !

Send them a 'letter before action' telling them that their claim of damaged cartridges is far too late to be entertained and unless they make payment within a specified time you will begin procedings in the small claims court. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply - appreciated.
Their 'argument' is that the value of the 'good' cartridges is outweighed by that of the bad ones. Since I'm not in a position to prove the condition of the cartridges, there's nothing I can really do - well not for a very modest £32.
Two months after they'd had the cartridges, I contacted Takeback Ltd and asked for payment; shortly afterwards, they told me that in fact, the majority of the cartridges were damaged and that I wasn't entitled to anything.
The Internet homepage of Takeback Ltd states that . . .
'We have some somewhat old fashioned values of great customer service, quality products, paying people on time . . .'
For months my better half had been telling me that the toner cartridges were worth n'owt and that they were just taking up room - turns out she was right ! {I can assure you, over 130 toner cartridges do take up a lot of room}.
So if you are ever in the position of wanting to recycle inkjet or laser toner cartridges, I cannot recommend the 'old fashioned' values of (non-paying) Takeback Ltd.
I'm not sure which is worse, waiting for two months to not be paid by Takeback Ltd or my missus being right.
