Hedge Cutting quotes

Iv'e had 2 seperate door knockers give a quote for cutting conifer hedge. 1st: £60
2nd: £160, reduced to £140 if I have it done today

How do I know if 1st is a cowboy or 2nd is a rip off? They both have proper business cards, trucks with logo & name.
Both say it's OK to cut now even though still getting morning frosts.

We recommend that cutting hedges and trees is avoided between March and August as this is the main breeding season for nesting birds.

The dearer one did mention the birds but only as in coaxing me not to put it off any longer.

Not saying they were, but i've had travellers round with vans with logos and they've had business cards or flyers.
