Bosch Hedge Cutter Reviews

Hi All,

I have some trees that need tidying up, thought it would be cheap to do but the quotes I am getting are £150, which was more than I was expecting.

Not sure what they are maybe leylandii, they are about 12ft tall, image below.

Does anyone have a bosch multi tool with hedge cutter attachement, wondering if it will get the job done. Link

Thinking of investing in one as assume these will need to be trimmed every year.

Personally I would be tempted just to remove them. They are not a hedge/barrier and you can get some far more attractive shrubs to put there.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Your not the first person to suggest that.

Though they do provide some privacy.
  • Stihl HS 45, blade length 24" / 60 cm with step ladder i would suggest. Your're going to pay double what you would pay for the bosch but have a superior (petrol) cutter that will last many years longer than the electric one and give a better cut.
DONT cut into the old wood as it will not regrow.
I think they could look a lot better shaped

I've used one of the Bosch multi-tools for hedge trimming - it does do the job very well indeed , but is quite heavy to carry and manoeuvre.

If you have a suitable ladder, a smaller trimmer might be easier to handle depending on your strength/fitness.

I do have a small bosch trimmer, but as the ground slopes I wasn't sure how easy it would be getting up the ladder. Any tips for using a ladder on a slope?

I might have a go first before I buy anything new.

I saw the lidls ones out today, but googled them and could only find 1 review which wasn't very positive.

Give it a try! With a 3 year guarantee if it's crap just take it back, Lidls are good like that!
