In my book half an egg after breakfast is the sensible option, surely at Easter, eggs are FOR breakfast :p

    Happy Easter Alex :EasterBun

    Happy Easter, NG. :)

My son had 4 eggs in total: one from in-laws, one from brother-in-law, one from my parents and one from my wife and I. I believe my cousin has got one for him but we aren't seeing her until later this week. Currently, we have 2 1/2 left.
Well this is the last week of Challenge 1 :) and your half way there :jHope your thinking of what your Challenge 2 will be, can't wait to see what you come up with :) Better start thinking
Good to hear you got the Easter Egg hunt in, did you all enjoy it, and well done on the breakfast egg :D :T

:rotfl: Challenge 1 isn't looking particularly good but I'd like to extend it to include April.

Challenge 2 is to try to make our monthly income stretch as far as possible and hopefully make a large overpayment. Optimistic Challenge 2 is going to be to make a £750 overpayment but that means us trying to live on c.£2,650 for the month ... not sure whether that's actually doable or not considering we usually manage to spend our whole income every month. :o

Not sure how a breakfast egg deserves a "well done" :rotfl:... actually thought others would find it quite shocking we let our son eat Easter egg after breakfast. Egg hunt was fun, yes. :)

    Happy Easter, Gally. :)

Challenge / house / financial update:

House is looking the best it has in years. :j Spring clean complete and found some more things to sell when I get around to it. :) Actually feel a lot better walking around the place with it being tidy. Really want to finish the house today and am not too ashamed to say I live here for once. :D

No one wants to buy any wheels. :(

Another NSD ... well apart from a deposit on something car shaped.

You want to have 2 challenges on the go at the one time - Maybe too much

Challenge 2 is to try to make our monthly income stretch as far as possible and hopefully make a large overpayment. :rotfl:Its doable, believe me, its doable - I would be laughing :D if I had that to live on :D

Not sure how a breakfast egg deserves a "well done" :rotfl:... actually thought others would find it quite shocking we let our son eat Easter egg after breakfast. Egg hunt was fun, yes. :)

Its a "Well done" cause you put your son first and gave him what he wanted, that was nice and I bet you both enjoyed it. :T glad you had fun with the egg hunt :D

Is it so bad if it happens to be Challenge 3? :)
:naughty:I hope it was a Dinky for your DS  or am I :wall:

:rotfl: Not sure where the rest of your post has gone but the car is Challenge 3. :) It's absolutely not being kept for a long period of time and we've also 2 other cars to sell at some point soon. All of which will be going into either savings / OPs. So, really I'm being a good boy. ;)

Anyhow, 2 challenges are not going to be an issue as Challenge 2 is going to be about setting a budget up that can be done tomorrow (I'm not very busy). All we need to do is stick to it. Challenge 1 ongoing needs to be done as more than needing the money we need to rid ourselves of some of the clutter. To be honest, due to being busy with work and being in quite a low mood not a lot got done this March.

I'll be honest the last time we tried to live on a similar amount we found ourselves in debt. :o Learnt a lot since then, though. :)

We enjoyed the breakfast egg, yes but won't be making a habit of it. I always try my best with my son, he means an awful lot to me. :)

:rotfl: Of course I didn't buy Mrs K and my parents Easter eggs! That said, perhaps it'll be fun next year. However, I've had enough chocolate with helping son eat his eggs, I think.

I hope you're right re. the wheels. :)

Not quite sure you've grasped the idea of Challenges ;)

    So sell then replenish :)

That's the idea, not busy, rid clutter and as for not getting a lot done in March, you've sold a set of wheels, made £250, completed 50% of Challenge 1, had an Easter Egg Hunt :D Cleaned, tidied the house, found more items for clearing and ate half of your son's easter egg :naughty: (Which most do, they say to me, they got so many, they'll not miss one:eek:)

I'll be honest the last time we tried to live on a similar amount we found ourselves in debt. :oLearnt a lot since then, though. :)

All good, won't make the same mistake twice, then :)

Maman, I've no desire to apply for the job let alone expect to be given it. My comments about it being something I can do nothing about were directed at certain policies I disagree with, which I find frustrating as I do not like things to be beyond my control.

I'm quite aware I do not have the relevant qualifications or experience and am too old to be starting again if I were to hope to gain a position of influence. To be honest, I thought I made this quite clear in my previous post. Therefore, I hardly think trying to ridicule me is entirely appropriate.

Re. not needing a pension, it will be both. As I have stated in the past I'd like to find myself with 20 rental properties by the time I start passing property onto my son. Can't really see why it matters whether it's inherited or otherwise, to be honest.

Sorry Alex, didn't mean to ridicule you at all. Of course, you're aware that you don't have relevant qualifications. My jibe was pointed at the fact that the government don't seem to think relevant qualifications matter. One of the many policies we're not in control of!

I can't agree with your comment about being too old. Teachers are currently expected to work until 68 so that's plenty of time.

Differentiating between inherited or earned does matter because, as you've said yourself in a subsequent post, the fact that you stand to inherit seems to have taken all motivation away from you and left you with dissatisfaction.

Have you never eaten a selection box for breakfast on Christmas morning?;)
