Leak from Back up Immersion on Hot Water Cylinder

Hi All,
I have a Tribune HE unvented cylinder which has been recently serviced.
There is aleak from the immersion heater. I've had a couple of plumbers out to look at it. Both commented that trying to tighten it could make it worse & that is difficult to see whats happening.
Since they didn't have a clear idea on how to fix it, I'm thinking of trying to seal it myself with some of this Spray N Seal Mastic Leak Stop
It seems worth a go, but just hoping its not going to do more harm than good?
Other ideas I've seen are things like Gorilla Glue, or epoxy resin (JB weld) to seal, but I figured the spray would be easier to apply (probably messier too!)
Photos are included in case they are any use

Any work on an unvented cylinder must by law be done by a plumber with an Unvented Hot Water qualification.
If the heater/cylinder joint is leaking then the heater should be removed and refitted with appropriate compound/tape. Anything you apply to the outside is unlikely to be successful (the water is at mains pressure) and may make it harder/impossible to repair in the future.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
The plumbers are both gas safe registered with G3 unvented qualification.
If its as easy as remove & re-fitting, why would they not have offered to do that?0 -
Needs a plumber. 1/4 of a turn could damage the tank. As said needs to come off and a new gasketDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Actually, the law says you can do exactly what you like to your own property. If however you engage somebody else they must be proven competent and have the appropriate evidence they are competent, i.e. G3
Its the can of worms scenario isn't it. Plumber does his best but damages cylinder on removal, or makes it worse in some other way. If it were my job I'd want an indemnity so that if it did go all to pot I could not be held liable. It could mean a new cylinder if the worst came to the worst.
By all means try spraying on magic wonder leak seal. I doubt it will work, but I doubt you can do much harm by trying it0 -
if you have had two plumbers that couldn't work out how to fix a leaking immersion then time to find a new plumberI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
