Council tax isn't zero'd if BR. For some reason my water bill was, but not gas/elec. Also, how can you actually afford Sky if considering going BR?! I'm surprised the OR didn't pick that up.0

I would imagine being a sky customer for 10 years you are no longer in contract with them, do you actually want to keep sky tv?
If you want to keep it, speak to their retentions department
go through the cancellation process with them and then expect a big discount to stay
Just because the OR may not have allowed you sky TV in your allowance, doesn't mean you have to get rid of it. You may just have to juggle a few things around to cover the cost

There was a recent change that meant the years council tax would fall into your bankruptcy.
I doubt the OR is actually bothered if you had sky showing up on bank statements whilst struggling with debts. I had sky on some of my bank statements that were sent in when they requested 12 months of statements, it was never mentioned
Different people prioritise bills in different ways, some pick sky and gym memberships over paying credit cards. It's not our place to judge though, what people did or didn't spent their money on.0 -
Sky will try it.
Being bankrupt will really not mean a thing. You signed up to a contract.
You now want to be released from that contract, you will need to pay it.
If you are say half way through a contract you will need to pay what you owe of that contract to get out of it.
To be honest I don't like the message you are saying about not paying because you are bankrupt.
Will you say the same to the electric, water, gas and council tax.?
Why do people post incorrect advice when they evidently do not have a clue as to how BR works? Unbelievable.:pB&SC No. 298

WHy is it people presume, when Sky is mentioned, that the entire package is involved?
Sky actually present a viable phone/broadband package, that happens to include basic TV as well.....for not much more than a commonplace phone/broadband package from others. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

Council Tax for the whole of the financial year in which someone goes BR, is included in the BR and the Bankrupt will not pay council tax again until the start of the new financial .
