thanks for the clarification I am sure the OP will find it useful
when i go abroad now I tend to fly and if i have to i will hire a car at my destination, and i definitely wont be driving into the french mountains but if i did i would probably be better equipped than most of the brits heading to the ski slopes
I have my car fitted with winter tyres i have a pair of lidl snow chains in the boot and a snow shovel and other items of winter kit but i get up and there is snow on the ground the car would not move unless it was a real emergency0 -
Calais/Coquelles to Amsterdam will be autoroute all the way. No chains needed or expected, unless you are very unlucky.
AIUI, chains are required only where signs are displayed, and that is only in mountainous regions and at specific times of year.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
