  • I agree - I have worked the calculator many times and I don't get why BTL in London is an appeal.
The yield is definitely poor usually. I guess property prices have dramatically increased in the past but whether it's sustainable who knows.
I am lost at leasehold renewal fees!!!!

I looked into it about a year ago - the figures were terrible

Of course if you're a Russian oligarch, investing in overseas property can be a lot safer than keeping it in your own economy - and the general demand from overseas investors is what's pushed prices up

But with oil down, and European QE starting today, London's going to start looking VERY expensive before long ... So if looking at property funds: find the ones that have already reduced exposure to London (such as Threadneedle)

I think it's more to do with laundering than investing.
  • Yeah, I have invested my saving in property and I am quite happy with my Financial planners decision. Investment in property is always good suggestion for now present and for future also.

So you're saying I should move 100% to property?

Its strange that people are saying Europe is a good place to invest as I would have thought the UK and USA would have slowed by now given that our currencies are so strong...
My Goal: From 1st of Jan 2015 to 31st of December 2015 is to save 30000.

    48.78% towards 2015 target.

    105.3% towards 2014 target. :j

I'm sure this is spam but what financial planner in the UK would recommend investing 100% in property?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
