Easy Jet lost luggage: compensation

Hello,
I was unfortunately on one of the planes caught in the terrorst incident that happened at Glasgow airport on June 31st 2007. I was supposed to be flying to Bristol that afternoon, flying back to Glasgow on 15th of July. The plane never took off from Glasgow (having already been two hours late boarding - unrelated to the terrorism). We were held on it for 9 hours until midnight when we were sent home, having to pay for our own cabs. For the entire 9 hours that we were held on the plane (not allowed off at any point), easyjet staff charged passengers for food and water.
I made my own way to Bristol by train next morning. I was told by easyjet that by luggage would be forwarded on to Bristol. I did not get my luggage until I returned to Glasgow on the 15th. In a series of telephone calls to the call centre of Menzies Baggage (easyjet's luggage handlers) and their different offices at Glasgow, Bristol and Gatwick airports, and the Easy Jet counters in these three places I was continually misinformed about the whereabouts of my luggage, being told at various points that it was in Bristol, and then that it was in Gatwick. This even caused me to make the journey to Gatwick to reclaim it, where the staff had no idea where it was.
The reason I went to Gatwick was that at an early stage I realised my luggage tag had been mislabelled by easyjet when I checked in, with a name that is not mine, and a Gatwick flight number. So I gave this information over the phone to a person at Menzies at Bristol airport and also Glasgow airport and they both advised me to go to Gatwick to seek out my luggage.
On July 11th I received a call from a courier saying they were outside my flat in Glasgow trying to deliver my luggage. I had said numerous times to the Menzies people on the telephone that I was away from home and had made no arrangement for the delivery of my luggage or been told it would be delivered or infact told it was in Glasgow.
By email correspondance Easy Jet Baggage claims department have just informed be they will give me £25 per day for a maximum of three days and I must produce receipts. This for expenses of toiletaries etc. I have replied to them saying I am not satisfied with this as it merely covers expenses (and only for 3 days at that). I wish to pursue full compensation for being messed around in this way, and would be grateful if anyone could tell me if and how this might be possible.
Thank you very much for your time.

You wish to claim compensation due to events caused by a terrorist incident?!!Gone ... or have I?0

i think if you look at the OP's title and read the text you can see they are claiming for the inconvenience caused by the various parties mislaying the luggage and providing incorrect information0
-
I am aware of that, and I am not excusing the confusion that the OP experienced.
However, in the week after the attack the airlines were incredibly busy, and I do not think that the circumstances should lead to people claiming compensation.Gone ... or have I?0 -
i think again if you read the post... it wouldn't be advisable to waste sometimes time and money during a heightened airport security scenario by sending them to an airport without confirming the luggage was definitely there .
what would you do ?0
