Everyday I'm finding wood louse inside my property. Have no idea how or why they are getting in. If anyone can offer advice it would be much appreciated.

They like damp areas, cure the damp , no wood louse0

They scavenge on rotting debris
Is there just one louse or several lice?0 -

You probably won't believe this but while reading your post, something caught my eye and it was a wood louse, or slater as we call them, walking across our carpet!
I'm pretty sure they get in through a gap betwen the carpet and the wooden doorstep just inside our patio doors. I must get around to sealing that. Look for any small gaps in skirting boards etc that might allow them in. It's also possible that they're getting in through gaps around waste pipes, then into the void under kitchen units and then in through gaps in the kick board.0 -
I doubt very much if you can seal any house tight enough to stop wood lice getting in.
As I said , cure the damp.or slater as we call them
certainly nicer than louse.0 -

I used to find them quite regularly when I first bought my new build house 17 years ago but I haven't seen any for several years now. I haven't done anything to the house to stop them coming in.0

It's a relatively recent thing to be honest. I live in a small bungalow with the living room at the back of the property which leads into the garden via patio doors.
I find them close to the doors on the laminate floor. My house isn't damp as I had one of those loft ventilation systems installed a while back.
The patio doors are original to the property which was built about 20 years ago. It's basically the old style metal framed one. The property is owned by a social landlord and really need modernising.
Just can't understand why it's happening all of a sudden.0 -
We had a slater problem in a previous house and a friend, who worked for a pest control company, discovered there were hundreds behind our wooden fire surround. There was a lot of debris behind there from old bird nests and a bit of rubble. A bit of powder of some kind and a good clear out cured the problem. When we moved to this house the problem pest was slugs...yuk! Took a long time to get rid of them as I didn't want to use poison but haven't had any for a while, keeps fingers crossed.Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate0
