Barclay Online Account - email address problem?

Is anyone else getting the problem in "My details" whereby it says "! We need to confirm if xxxxxx@xxxxx.com is correct." ?

When I click the update button it says in email section "We haven't been able to deliver emails to xxxxx@xxxxx.com. Please update your email address."

You click update, confirm entered correctly (twice) click save.

Goes round full circle. Still get original message in "My details".

Online help can't fix problem and telephone helpline keeps cutting off after 10 mins on hold. Is this a general bug affecting everybody or just me?

    Try clearing cache and cookies?

    Just double checked all that. Then used CCleaner also rebooted.

    No change. Still wants me to update email. Maybe the glitch will sort itself out by Monday. If not I'll try the helpline again then. My email address hasn't changed in about 6 years, and I'm still receiving mails from everyone else without problem.

    I don't have the problem you report but in the past I had a similar problem with Barclaycard - each time I logged in to mybarclaycard I was asked to confirm my details and no amount of clicking the Confirm button or even editing and saving changes to my details would stop me being asked this question each time I logged in.

    In the end I telephoned Barclaycard customer services and they were able to resolve this.

    Finally got the problem sorted by Barclays technical department today.

    I phoned Barclays on Saturday and spoke to someone at their foreign call centre and they arranged for the Coventry call centre to ring me today which they did. I explained the issue to the tech department, who updated something their end, then told me to log out and log back in again.

    "My details" email update problem fixed.
    Never trust a financial institution.
