benedictadams wrote: »Did my first one of the week today
got 4 Radox and 2 Colgates
Plus had a bit of other shopping to cover up the free H&B
Had not as a good time in getting the coupons accepted
SA started off by only willing to take the £2.50 H&B coupon and one of the Colgate.
Said to her i thought if i brought the product that i was allowed to use a coupon, which is why i'd given her two colgate.
Credit to her she scanned the second coupon without a fuss
Then she said she couldn't take the QK one as i hadn't brought any of the products
to which i said in my best hurt puppy-dog impresion that i thought shower gel was toiletries
didn't look too happy but scanned the first and when that went through she was happy to scan the second
glad i only did the £10 shop as i doubt she would have done all the ones required for the £20.
I don't want to use the same cashier all the time as they may get into trouble, but don't want to use too many as the more i use the more chance of getting a jobsworth one
I thought the same then realised it would be better to widen the pool a little, that way I can find lots of people that will scan stuff (and a few that won't inevitably!) and if my favs aren't on in the future, I will have others I can go to.
(I don't like the safe route)
Also, I realised that the ones I had gone to in the past felt quite uncomfortable taking that amount of vouchers off me, so it was better to go to another sa, and go back to the previous ones a few days later so they were less likely to remember me
Right, am just nipping out to see if I can spot any of the elusive ElviveStopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
IMPORTANT NOTE - ELVIVE MOUSSE
If you're lucky enough to find any (I tried 3 stores before hitting the jackpot)
Make sure you don't put it through the till first, if you do it will confuse the hell out of the SA as the till will show you are in credit. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I 'bought' 12 cans earlier, they were first on the conveyer the till flashed up -£12.96 (Minus £12.96). SA's jaw dropped and scratched his head, thinking quickly I told the SA it was a special offer, he shrugged his shoulders and carried on scanning. A more eagle-eyed SA would have called a supervisor over..Who's the more foolish: the fool, or the fool who follows him?OBI-WAN KENOBI:beer: :A :beer:0 -
Can someone tell how much the till takes off when you buy Elvive mousse.
Is it a bogof thing and then multi save?
Sorry im just not getting it tonight!
Dont worry read the first page and get it now, gotta horrible feeling im going wake up ill tomorrow and not going be able to go Mousse hunting.0 -
I couldn't find the Elvive mousse in 3 stores just a white sel with empty shelves... So did mutley muppets radox combo... first 2 stores pulled for 1 of each coupon so scarpered.... Thought I'm not going to bed on a failure so went to a store strict on only '1 coupon' in total & that means 1... usually the £1.25 qp, as £2.50 one does not qualify as not £10.00 spend... Did 14 radox with 2 x £7.10 condoms & 2 x lypsils at 0.93 (2 for £1.50) with other shopping 3 times... so going to bed a happy bunny.0

Yeh I thought of this after finding 6 cans....6 cans hidden behind the £1.59 stuff, 66p label had been covered with an "out of stock" label....put these through last AND used £5 worth of coupons as well, and got 4 Dove Summer glow free as well.................the only "mousse" finD in 3 shops...also did 3 lots of NC/McA....and 56 bottles of radox.......didnt bother with money off other shopping, was quite happy to get it all virtualltty free.
Takes too long to buy other stuff when doing 8 "shops" in 90 minutes, so free is good enough for me these days.Couponing....."every little hurts"

No sign of the elusive mousse in my local store.. pretty sure it was reduced weeks ago and long since gone.
Not great success with tonights H&B shop either. Bought 2 Nicky Clarke items I use, plus 1 JF sachet, but was only allowed 1 £2.50 coupon, [so made them void the H&B one and use the SB one instead], 1 Quit and 1 H&B Toiletry
However can't complain as I was allowed the Filetti point coupon [gained from a kind PTSer] against a Tesco powder and had 2 fantastic shops already this week, saving nearly £60.
Was hoping to find my newly discovered, highly adoptable happy scanner, who had told me he worked Thursdays, but as hes a multi-skiller, he was obviously working elsewhere today.
Never mind, theres always tomorrow and I WILL try again.. hopefully with the SB coupons being sent out by another PTSer.. and hopefully with more success. So your answer don’t be scared of failure
For the only failure is never to try

Just comes off as a bogof, but deducts from total as it goes along, if you have any luck finding it before the glitch is fixed, make sure you put it through last.
6@ 66p takes off £10.44 as a bogof.Couponing....."every little hurts"

no elvive mousse in sight today.
not sure if i should be laughing or crying, this is what happened today:
no usual sa in sight so went for the first empty till, small shops anyway.
did 2 shops each consist of 2 NC + 1 JF sachet = £10ish HB; 3 HC items = £8ish HC; and some daily items. budget to spend about £10ish on each shop after bogof glitch etc. first shop, sa forgot to scan 1 HC item ; second shop, sa forgot to scan 1 NC . as a result, quite a few coupons were rejected by machine. gosh they were only small shops and i planned to use the minimum amount of coupons and hope for a tiny profit to help out the other shopping. my plans fell apart totally  but sa was willing to try a few mocs, so everything worked out fine at the end. just wasted a few good mocs when i should be using the expiring SB and HB.

Am planning on buying 4 x Nicky Clarke tomorrow @ 4.28ea; less BOGOF = £6.14; using 1x2.50SB, 1x2.50HB, 1x1.25QK = 11p credit
Hopefully will be an easy, stress-free shop!!0 -
