Ragtimeplayer, re the Express, for me:-

    Downsides:-

    Limited stock range
Don't always have the same BOGOF offers as an Extra
Single queue so you can't select your checkout operator
It's unusual for customers to buy many items in a transaction, so I think a lot of coupons sticks out like a sore thumb

    On the positive side

Some of the staff give even less of a sh!te than those at an Extra store! ;)

  • Just had three fantastic shops, using a mixture of HC, H&B, 2x6ers, DM and todays red magazine coupon.

My first store was a small one with limited range. My usual items were not stocked, this included rennie and the health bars but....

TOP TIP - ive got a selection of combinations for HC and H&B wrtitten on a post-it note, just like a ready reckner

..so i reached for it and the day was saved..PHEW!!!

I guess as this was on page 2, everyone like me is looking forward to a break from couponing.. I'm trying to stock up on as many goods as possible toilet rolls, washing power, etc, using the 2x6ers to save as much as possible.

I think its £30 H&B shop...before bogofs...then buy £15 of other stuff...use 3 x 2.50 HB..got no SB...7 x 1.00 HB and 2 x1.25 quits..only got a few... and 2 x 6.00..that should give me stuff almost free?? does that sound right...not tried it before
  • Hi,

I have 25 Toothpaste 40p coupons from the quit packs going spare, so the first 5 people to PM me with their details can have 5 each. I will post today, no stamp needed.

I know we're not supposed to give stuff out on here, but the coupons are near expiry and I wouldn't want them to go to waste.

    Have a good day.

  • I had a bad shop yesterday and for the first time, tried the £6 coupons :(

I bought £20 worth of Hb and £16 worth of Hc, total with other groceries after bogof came off was about £33. I didn't know if you were supposed to use the £6 one first while the total was still £30? but she used others before that one. It bleeped when she scanned it so I took it back without comment.

The till didn't seem to like my coupons last night and it was quite worrying, after she had scanned about 10 coupons, it bleeped on the next one and wouldn't accept it. She tried a few more and it carried on bleeping for about 4 more coupons and then it let some more through.
After about another 5 coupons, it started bleeping again and once again, refused the next four or five coupons and by then, both the sa and I were fed up!

Had to pay just over a tenner for everything on the first shop which I wasn't happy about but can't complain really as I had 20 Daily Mails on my receipt anyway!

Second shop was totally different, every coupon she scanned worked, except for the £6 one which bleeped again so I gave that one up as a bad job.

I am wondering if the tills have been reprogrammed to only accept so many coupons? it wasn't the fact she hadn't pressed total as she explained (nicely) that she has to press "C" to continue when the coupon bleeped. She was really nice and tried to get them to work so she wasn't deliberately sabotaging me either. Not sure what the problem was but will try it out again today to see if I have the same problem.

Hi Ragtimeplayer - I suspected this about the £6 off £30 coupons, they seem to work best for me when the SA puts them through first before my other coupons, seem to remember there was another coupon like this but can't remember which one.
