Why are the £1 vouchers so good? I've got a few of the £1 vouchers left, which I'll try to shift tomorrow (the pink ones for toiletries), but I've spent the day getting rid of my £2.50's. Is that wrong? I figured the less vouchers that the SA has to swipe, the less they would worry.
Anyway.... I went out to get two shops in at the same store, but the SA (who I thought had looked a bit simple), spotted that I hadn't bought Colgate mouthwash (I had Aquafresh) and also asked me for my Clubcard, before hewould put the vouchers through.
I did give it to him, but that's the second time today in the same store I've had it swiped, so I thought it wouldn't be wise to do it again!
How many vouchers do people still have for tomorrow? I so wish I'd known about this trick earlier :T0 -
Laffers - grab yourself a temporary clubcard for when that happens.
And the £1's aren't better as such - you just use them more which is why you run out of them rather than the £2.50's.0 -

have a brilliant day today. usual store's carpark was so packed that the queue was going onto the main road, so decided to turn around and went to a different store, plus practice my driving.
first shop:
nature called, OH suddenly demanded to go to a nasty store that i normally won't go. fine, did a tiny small £8 HC + sun newspapers, grabbed a kid's goodie bag from pharmacist, passed by a radox element deo counter, nice lady gave me 2 mini samples and had a nice chat; passed by an innocent juice counter offering little cups of sample and mocs, tried sample, have a nice chat with the nice lady, asked if i can take a few mocs, helped yrself she said. queued up, young sa asked me to go to next till cos she has to deal with a particular item that will take long. ok, old bag manning an empty till, no choice so prepared to pay in full. to my surprise, she was all smiley and chatty, showed her my freebies in store and told her where to get them, she's all sweet and took all my HC coupons plus a couple of mocs. good experience in a usually nasty store, a good start of my day.
second shop:
silly sat nav directed me to a different direction and ended up somewhere that i didn't intend to go, won't buy road angel next time. oh well, remember there is a t in the area but never use it before. always first time, so have a go. a small store and didn't have all the items that i want, so did a £10ish HB + £8ish HC + a few daily items + 2 taut sport drink (couldn't find it in other t, have 2 mocs for it and really want to try them), saw radox deo counter again, grabbed a few mini samples again. all tills full, strolled to ss machines and sa seemed extra friendly, had a go at the machine, sweet sa authorised all my coupons mocs pointers, couldn't believe it but don't think i will use ss again, too much hassle, sa have to authorised each coupon. forgot to use taut coupons, silly me, went to cs and get cash back for the coupons, great. grabbed another kid's goodie bag on my way out. yipppeee
third shop:
fav store, clear policy. did 2 transactions each has £10ish HB £8ish HC + daily items, went to first empty till in sight, all went thro fine. fab. shame only accept 1 x 50pt per transaction.
fourth shop:
no plan to go to this one, but forgot to buy milk and it's located on the way home, so dropped by. since i have a good day, think i will do a proper food shop with HB HC, i was more than happy to pay in full if get rejected. did £20ish HB £24ish HC + lots of food. strolled along tills, saw sa whom i used before, empty till, all coupons accepted, wow, feel like a million dollar today.
just checked receipts, radox glitch has been corrected in all stores.
haven't have a smooth ride for a long time, still couldn't believe it.
oh a bit off topic, got an organic fruit veg box £10 today, it has extra 3 items in. wow a big full box with potatoes, squash, apples, garlic, celery, long pepper, curly leave salad, rocket salad, peas in pods, runner beans, fennel, carrots, lettuces. bargain.
um... just remember now i forgot a special request of car mag from OH, but i served yummy organic chicken potatoes cabbage for dinner, that should make it up, shouldn't it?
really need a break from t now0 -
I had a terrible time yesterday in one of my two local Mr T's
Tried to use multiple moc's as I was trying to use up my Hb and HC etc as you do and manager was called over, said he had seen me in the store before and said "I have already told you about this before" meaning the 10% rule. I wanted the ground to open up, he totalled up my first shop and it came to a mind boggling £70+ which is amazing as I don't normally do such massive shops. he said I could have £7 ish off, no way!
I now feel that I cannot go back into that store at all as I am sure he will be looking out for me , gutted
On a more pleasant note, I had 4 brilliant shops at my other local today and got loads of Hb and Hc. I had plenty of Hb and HC coupons left so distributed them around the store and then watched as delighted poeple found them, felt good
I don't have a single pink coupon left so no stress tomorrow with trying to spend them in time but am hanging on to my Quits in case something really good comes out.Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
Radox Glitch working yesterday in SW Tesco's, but alas fixed by this evening only deducting £1.48. Shame that would have been nicer for T to have fixed it after the HB vouchers expired tomorrow (2/9/07).
Oh well, fun while it lasted:D0 -
The Radox glitch was fixed in my local store tonight too, but I realised that as I looked at the shelves and bought 2 of the previously more expensive Radox to make up my totals. I cleared my last £2.50 H&B yesterday and finished off my £1 H&B tonight.
Also did my first ever zero balance shop! Hadn't really intended too as I used my clubcard to get wine points, but my favourite happy scanner sa asked if I had more coupons, and as the total still to pay was £1.90 [and the Marie Claire printable coupon was for exactly that amount] how could I refuse?
Best not use Clubcard for a while now I guess..So your answer don’t be scared of failure
For the only failure is never to try

Is it just me or is anyone else looking forward to a 'break' from H&B? LOL_____________________________________________

yes, i did the zero balance shop once. it wasn't intentional, it was only a small shop with HB and food. give a small pile of low value mocs to young sa, full of 20p 30p 40p... suddenly she looked puzzle and didn't know what to do, i quickly looked at the balance, sif... zero... i quickly grabbed the few mocs from her hand, she didn't know what to do and handed me the receipt, i rushed out the store bright red.. hahahahahha :rotfl:
quite funny when think back, never dare to go back to that sa. normally i picked up bad vibes from sa if they scanned away first then started to doubt at the end. they r likely to reject coupon next time. :cool:0
