Warm Home Discount Scottish Power

Options
Hi, can anyone help me please? I have applied for the warm home discount scheme for this year. A few months ago I got sent an email from Scottish Power to say i had qualified, which followed by a £9 voucher from them to pay onto my meter. I understand that the £140 is due by the end of this month. I have rang Scottish power 3 times regarding this and every time someone tells me a different story on how this scheme works. One guy told me that the government hold the money and then they pay money out in order of priority therefore I may not even get this money even though i qualify? They said that the money is not showing up on my account to be sent to me and therefore there is nothing more that can be done but to wait and see. My friend is with British Gas and has had hers a week ago even though she ticked less boxes than me on the form. I am now really confused on how this works? Is anyone with Scottish Power and received there's yet? This voucher would really help me hence why i applied in the first place. Thanks for reading this Kim. p.s sorry if i posted in the wrong part I am new to the forum.

  • - hiya kim0000, - what your friend gets is irrelevant, are you 'core group' or 'broader' group ?
    - are you in receipt of Pension Credit, and is it (1) - Guarantee Credit type or the (2) Savings Credit type - or both ?

    - 'core group' automatically qualify without asking
    - 'broader group' have to ask and satisfy the qualifying conditions, then they may or may not get a payout if there's any money left

If you have a letter saying you will get it by end March why do you keep phoning them? Wait till then and see what happens. Kim the money does not come from the Government but from the supplier.

Kim,I have had mine with Scottish Power, what normally happens is that when you generate a bill by inputting your readings, the credit is then applied to your account.

Do you normally do this ? If not then read your meters, submit the readings to your account, and hopefully it will then be there for you.

Its a government scheme- So its funded by the government. therefore its from the government through the supplier. so it comes form the government not the supplier. Surely working for BG you should know this. its a legal fact. You cannot legally say its from the supplier.
