Happy Birthday RR - hope the day is just as you want it.

Had a mini-crisis. Happily vacuuming up the wood ash in the stove when I notice that the bottom of it is still glowing. Sucked up glowing parts before I could stop. Cue me outside in the rain opening up the machine and taking out the already alight bag full of wood ash. Had to run to the dumping corner of the garden and throw it on before all the paper burnt off. Never had a fire burn overnight and still be alight in the morning, I must be getting better at it.

Everything fine now, just got a little fright. :o

Now it's time for breakfast, will add in an extra egg for nerves.
  • Morning all:j

A lovely morning here, blue sky but still quite cool. Have been to the SM for a few fresh bits and now home catching up on the web

A very happy birthday Redruby have a lovely day.:j:bdaycake:

All the housework is up to date, not enough washing to do a load so a quiet relaxing day

Have a good weekend everyone and so sorry for all that dreadful weather in Scotland, not long now Gers. I think we will all be pleased to see Spring and some of us haven't had nearly such a bad winter a other.

    Take care

  • Morning one and all. We got back from our break in the Lakes yesterday afternoon after an enjoyable 5 days. The weather was cold but we never saw a drop of rain, so that was a bonus! The hotel was as good as ever and the breakfast buffet too hard to resist and my helpings got bigger day by day, Why am I so greedy?!

There was still lots of snow on the higher fells but we only admired them from lower levels! Lots of walkers around but obviously much fitter and braver than us! We enjoyed trips to Lancaster, Keswick, Penrith, Bowness and Windermere. With many coffee and cake stops interrupting our wandering when we felt we needed warming up.

Back to reality today and avoiding the scales for a few days! Washing blowing on the line but we are not getting the 17 deg we were promised by the weathermen! It still feels blooming cold and not a glimpse of the sun.

Bird feeders all filled up and an assortment of stuff defrosting for our lunch and dinner.

Hope everyone is well and Happy Birthday to RedRuby. Take care all xx

Hi, Candlelight. Yes he kept well and as long as he doesn't overdo things he plods on quite well. He eats and drinks much less than he used to and only does gentle exercise but continues to look well. And if his scans show no change after the 6th injection that would be wonderful. I try not to worry but it's impossible not to. xx

  • Hi TA, I think appetite does diminish with treatment. I only had radiotherapy after my op, but it certainly affected my appetite and I often felt sick.

Onwards and Upwards for your dear OH

Good afternoon everyone, its a lovely sunny day here in Kent, sorry to hear weather is bad elsewhere, hope that it soon picks up and spring arrives.

Happy Birthday Redruby, and glad TA had a nice break.

I have washing out on the line, and have almost finished the housework, just having a break for a few minutes before I finish off.

I am going to make a vegetable moussaka for dinner, hope the family like it as they haven't had it before, but I have an aubergine from Ald* supersix to use up:)

Well have a good evening everyone.

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Redruby,& enjoy your tapas.
Glad you enjoyed your break TA :)
Its been a lovely day here today.I've just been pottering and DH is at the house renovation, plodding on.I was going to make a lasagne for tea but realised I'd put the mince in the freezer after my shop yesterday  There are other things available but just fancied it.

DGD is here overnight but DS and DP have taken both children to Blackpool so she'll prob be tired when they get back, and if she's had a sleep on the way back she'll not want to goto bed a t the normal time.I'm tired now,I cleaned the carpet this afternoon so that looks a lot better but I can still see the curry stain:mad:

Going to have a sit in the conservatory with my kindle, the sun has warmed it up,its usually freezing.
Have a good evening all x

Happy Birthday to RR and have a lovely day.:bdaycake:

Have been borrowing Dd's laptop and it now needs repairing. Phoned a repair place on Wednesday and no reply - ditto on Thursday and Friday so phoned a different firm and left message - no reply from them either!!!

Using DH's big computer which is a bit odd to me so keep mis typing.

    TA

Dietician told us that radiotherapy changes metabolism which was news to us. Hope things continue to improve.

Middle DD drove me to York this morning and she picked up her new glasses and found a dress and shoes she liked then we both went to look for smart pastel coloured shoes for me and I ended up buying two pairs.

Going to see DH's family tomorrow and managed to find some nice scented candles and posh toiletries for the two birthdays of his cousins from tkmaximus so had a good day.

    Hugs to all
