UK Electricals in Netherlands/Amsterdam - Moving question

Hi All
I have Dimplex Electric Oil Free Column Heater, Vacuum Cleaner(SEBO), Hair Dryer and Iron(Morphy Richards) purchased in UK that I want to take to Netherlands. Will they work in 230V Netherlands?

Also, when moving household goods using moving company and entering into Netherlands, will there be any risk of it being charge any customs tax?

If anyone has any experience with moving company, any recommendations are much appreciated (to avoid or use).

Many thanks in advance.

Yes. Just go to Poundland and stock up in plug adaptors because they are quite expensive in NL.

Assuming you are moving from the UK, no.

I can't help you with removals, you'd have to ask on some expat forum.

The equivalent of Poundland (but better) in NL is Action:

I assume you are going permanently? If so get a local electrician to put replacement NL plugs on.

Watch out with plug adapters on high power devices - they often have quite a low max amps. You'd be better off putting NL plugs on them as above if you're going permanently.

Thank you for your advice so far - Yes in the later future moving is a possibility. Risk of power rating for adaptors - that makes sense and I think changing the plug does make sense.

My main concern was the impact of 10V difference.

Lighting - I saw somewhere that the screw sockets for bulbs are only 1mm difference and they do match well with NL bulb as well. can anyone else validate if this is the case or not? and if so, the cabling, and switch should withstand this difference? (Power = Voltage X Current, so for the same Watt rating lights, there would be more current flowing...)

    Thank you

I don't think the small voltage difference matters, most electrical items in the EU are designed to work between 220-240V. It's people from the US who have problems since they have devices that want 110V!

The 10v difference can be ignored, in fact UK is 230v +/- 10% which is the same as Holland.
All UK switches and lampholders will be fine.
The ES and SES screw lights are also exactly the same, BC is less common over there but some places do sell BC bulbs.
Personally we take a couple of the cheap 4 gang leads and change the plug for a local one, this means we can charge phones, use games consoles etc without using the cheap, often only 5a adaptors.
