I'm buying a 10x5 shed but need to prep a base this week really.
What's the cheapest? Ballast & concrete, slabs, or ecobase & gravel?
I can't seem to fathom out which works out better! Obviously cost aside ecobase is the easiest but I don't know if it will be strong like concrete.

I made a timber base with left over wood and damp proofed it. Cost me some screws and works perfectly. Easy too!0

What do you mean by cheapest? Lowest upfront cost, or best value in the long term?
A timber shed base will be cheap. It will be even cheaper if you use untreated softwood, but will rot five minutes after you put a shed on top of it.
A well constructed concrete base will cost a lot more initially, but will outlast the shed.0 -
I got 20 slabs for a pound each off gumtree.
2 bags concrete and about 8 of sand, but I'm not convinced that it was needed - it's not like you're driving a vehicle over it.0 -

I obviously mean cheapest, but suitable, given my post initially mentions 3 suitable forms of shed base. Untreated softwood wasn't one of them.
So in your opinion out of the 3 options, you'd say concrete was the cheapest.......?0 -
The cheapest and easiest to construct would be to get 8 concrete blocks. Bed them level on gravel and just let the floor bearers of the shed sit on them. I did this for my neighbour at least 12 years ago and the shed is as good as the day when it was installed.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
