Easiest way to set up DD's for switching?

Options
I have switched current accounts with the easy providers that only need a couple of standing orders which is pretty straight forward but what is the easiest way to set up a direct debit (or 2) in order to switch to Halifax?

Has anyone taken a subscription with a magazine trial and then cancelled it? any ideas appriciated thanks.

See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5126573 for some ideas, the most commonly adopted one on here seems to be using Tesco savings accounts to pay yourself (which works fine for me).

Easiest and quickest way is to open a Tesco internet savings and instant access saver account (2 separate direct debits) – very quick and costs you nothing as the savings remain yours. A few other savings accounts allow direct debits e.g. Standard life/Aldermore.

Also do you have any other payments etc you could change – Sky direct debit payments are easy to change on line. Or alternatively arrange to pay your credit card balance by direct debit – but make sure you arrange a full or fixed payment as if you only do the minimum (e.g. 5%) they won’t necessarily take that if you have already made a payment that month.

No need to incur any extra spending therefore – of course if you want to set up a direct debit to make payments to a charity that’s fine but make sure it’s a decent amount!

You don’t need any DDs to switch to Halifax.

You do need DDs for the fiver reward.
