Brand new Rock door. The lock was really difficult . You had to manually do extra shove on the door above the lock to hear a final click then really yank the handle upwards with all the force you could muster, to enable the key to lock . We thought it would ease off and continued. After a week it was impossible to get the key to go the last bit of a click to complete the locking.
Lock was replaced by door installer . (we are talking 'Ultimate' lock, top of Rocks range ) and this lock too , is proving a right pain. At the moment, I can just about yank the handle up and bang it hard, high enough to get the click which enables the key to do its final click to lock, but its hurting the palm of my hand using that much force.
The new back door, also Rock, is no bother at all. The only differnce in the doors is that the front one slowly swings itself to the shut position if left open, whilst the back one just stays open and still.
The question really is to any installers on here -- one lock is unlucky , two seems a bit suspicious -- could there be any other factor involved here ,perhaps in the way the door has been hung?

It sounds like an issue with the multi point system oppose to the actual euro lock which I guess you're referring to when you say you had the lock replaced?
Door may be hanging out of square to the frame or locking points may need adjusting, sounds like the hooks/cams are struggling to fully engage.0 -

Thanks Reece , OH thought it might be the multi point system too but wasnt sure if it was likely . Is it something that will settle down do you think (if its that) , or can it be adjusted?0 -
Not likely to settle down, should be able to be adjusted and I'd think it's likely that it's this that needs doing as oppose to the system being faulty and needing a new one.
I'd think the hooks aren't fully engaging or are only just , could be from misalignment that can be sorted by adjusting the keepers on the frame or the door itself may need adjustment if it's not sitting right within the frame.0 -
One quick way to test is to engage the locks with door open and see if key works properly then, if it does then I'd say definitely that they can't engage properly within the frame.0

Many thanks Reece, that was really helpful. I got back yesterday and tested it as suggested with the door open, and it worked absolutely smoothly like the back door. I will get the fettler back. Many thanks.0
