If they are no longer authorised but carrying out CMC activity then yes they are scammers.

Thanks for the advice on this Forum about going to the Legal Ombudsman. My story is similar to previous posts, I am trying to reclaim my £499 too after there being no PPI to claim. It's been going on for a year now. I've just spoken to the VERY helpful Legal Ombudsman's office on 0300 555 0333 (open 8.30am to 5.30pm Mon-Fri). They are taking it up on my behalf. I would encourage anyone who is in this situation to do likewise. The lady I spoke to knew all about Penguin Finance, SMS Legal and MisSold Products. It's happening to lots of us.....Don't be scared of making contact - they are really helpful.
