Odd however that two brand new users come along to post the same offer as their first ever posts though.0 -
Not really. I imagine there are lots of people who got this leaflet and wanted to share. MSE is the obvious placeInsideInsurance wrote: »

Some people read a site all the time but never post. Finding a free offer like this might trigger someone to registerChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

I'm with II on this one. A number of similarities between the accounts and the threads and the phraseology used. Is it too coincidental that the 'other' member that posted up this offer last logged in just 11 minutes after this thread was created.....?
Looks like someone in British Gas is looking for some FREE publicity for their FREE contents cover. Maybe their marketers should take a few minutes to read some forum rules.....
That said, as the FOS upheld numbers suggest, rules are generally not their strong point. Most people are happy to be FREE of British Gas Insurance Ltd once they've sampled the service.0 -

I would never ever buy anything from British Gas after receiving consistently really bad customer service from them and promising myself never to use them again.
I would not use them even if they offered me free Building and Contents.
They were that bad I would not even give them the opportunity to prove to me they've changed.
Without doubt the worst company I've ever dealt with and the very worst and most arrogant staff of any company I've had the miss fortunate to deal with.0 -
Same as above. British Gas were useless when i used them last.
The direct debits would go up and down like a yoyo and they could not be convinced that £30 was not enough and £70 was too much why not just set the direct debit midway. I got told their computer knows best.
When i got fed up with them putting it up and down like a yoyo i tried again to set it to a sensible level. Again computer knows best there is nothing they can do. Until i said thats fine cancel the direct debits and bill me quartlerly.
That shocked them, Suddenly they found they could adjust the direct debit amount after all.
I was in Sainsburys when they used EDF, And switched.
I thought that would be the end of it but no. After supplying BG with the meter readings they decided to ignore them and send me an estimated bill which was way above the actual meter readings.
Utterly useless.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
