  • Hi guys, I have today contacted both the legal and the financial ombudsman, the latter being unable to help, as it is a legal matter, the legal ombudsman has informed me to send a letter of formal complaint to Lorrells and they are also sending a letter, I have been in touch with a solicitor , who has told me to firstly to dispute the costs, as solicitors often pump up and put in unneccesary fees and they have pointed me in the direction of a firm that will do this for me,
I would like to thank you guys for all your advice and comments regarding this matter and I will keep you updated as to where this goes

Complain to Lorrells first. They may decide they will take on the broker's solicitors themselves to get the cost down. In the end, if they are going to pay the bill then it is reasonable to get the to do that.

I think jamesd is right - the Solicitors Regulation Authority would want to know what Lorrells are up to - and the Claims Regulator ought to want to know about Mortgage Audits.

If you wish to write, rather than e-mail, the template above should form a good basis for doing so.
