That only makes sense if you give them different roles, if they'll potentially be faced with the same situation that requires a certain level of fitness/strength to deal with then relaxing the test for a woman officer is potentially putting her at greater risk.

is this a transvestite question"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I am sorry but there are just some things which men are better equipped for and the same is true for women. In a job, such as policing, where there is the chance that personnel could end up in physical danger, those people need to be equipped. If they are not, then they are not safe.
If you were to lower the standards for women then they would be put in danger if not otherwise restricted. That restriction would be an inequality. If the same option does not exist for a man (i.e. lower standard fitness test and restricted duties), then that is an inequality. If you have two men, one who has a restricted duty set and one who does not, you cannot expect the two to be paid the same. The corollary is that a woman on restricted duties should not be paid the same either. I imagine that this latter would be considered an inequality by many women but were it not the case, it would be an inequality by the men. So you are stuck on a loser.
In this modern world, if we want absolute equality, gender should simply not come into the discussion. As soon as it is introduced, you get into catch 22 situations like above.Always overestimating...0 -
