One problem is you replied to the original email.
A lot of email scams pick a name and then send it to every @address they can find, 99% of those email addresses probably don't exist but the occasional one gets through to a real person.
Once you reply, they then know that email address is real so your email may end up on more spam lists.
It's why a lot of them say "to remove from this list reply to this mail with unsubscribe in the subject". It's for them to know that the email address they concocted is a real one once you reply, so they add you to confirmed as existing spam lists.0 -
The contents basically said
"Before any information can be disclosed or discussed please complete the following Data protection questions within the next 7 days. Full Name, First Line of Address and postcode, DOB and confirm your email address."
I would write back and ask them to first provide the same information for a point of contact at the company along with a copy of said person's passport and a direct dial free phone telephone number."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

It's unlikely to be a scam, Motormile are a "legitimate" debt collection agency.
Personally I wouldn't reply if nothing shows on your files. It's likely a fishing exercise.0 -
But the email maybe a fake one from a scammer.
I used to have lots of fun sending people emails from their own email address. Its easily done.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
To the other person that said about writing the letter, how would i get proof from them if i dont give them my postal address lol.
Exactly his point. And how do you think MotorMile could go about pursuing this through the courts without an address?Optimists see a glass half full
