finding closed accounts?

how do I go about finding closed bank accounts? is it just a case of going round all the possible banks in an area and asking?


im asking because my step brother closed at least one of my late Fathers accounts, and im not sure where else he may have had accounts.

To find your own lost accounts there is https://www.mylostaccount.org.uk/. I don't know if that would help with closed accounts.

In any case, unless you are executor for your late father's estate, you may have problems getting details of his accounts revealed.

Why do you need to find closed accounts?

I need to find closed accounts for 2 reasons:


1, my step brother has already helped himself and closed one account at Barclays without probate. that had £9.5k in it.


2, by getting old statements from the closed accounts I might be able to find where the rest of the money has gone.


I have LOA now.
