Tablet/ipad and comping

Hi Everyone
I am thinking of buying a tablet or ipad for general use but I would obviously want to be able to comp from it and wondered what tablets people were using and how they were fining comping on them.
I think I would want to be able to run Roboform and adblocker to make things easier and faster, can this be done? My Mum has a Kindle fire HD that I can have as she uses Dads ipad so the benefit of anyone's experience with one of those would also be appreciated.

There was another topic on here about comping with tablets / laptops and i suppose it depends on what your personal preference is
personally i use a normal keyboard/ mouse as i still cant use a laptop and i've no idea how anyone can use a tablet to comp
i would suggest a cheap laptop as you can then save all the pages - again thats just my preference0 -
Thank you Sax. I use a laptop at the moment and have to admit it is probably the fastest way for me to comp. Not just because everything is so easy to bookmark and find, but because I know my way round it so well. I doubt a tablet would ever be as fast but it would be good to know if I can comp on one before I decided to buy.
BTW you mentioned you can't use a laptop. Have you tried plugging a mouse into one? I use a mouse with mine for comping and not only is it easy and fast to use, but I can use it anywhere (usually my bed lol).2017 wins = £1350

I use a desktop when I'm at home and a tablet (iPad) when I'm away with work.
I find the tablet OK using Autofill on IE for most web forms (I've not got on with the RoboForm on the tablet as it doesn't work with the 'normal' Safari, but that's probably just me). And it is OK for TW, Fb etc. But for me it's much slower for things like email entries as I really miss Hotkey and not found an equivalent yet. Also I don't have a Bluetooth keyboard for this iPad (had one for its predecessor) and that might help with the typing. I don't do C2W so can't comment there.
Overall PC definitely faster for me but tablet OK as long as the hotel wifi isn't going slowly!Don't know where I'm running but I know how to run, 'Cause running's the thing I've always done0 -
i can use a laptop but i touch type and cant manage that as easy on a flat keyboard, i always have a mouse plugged in - cant stand those touchpads0

I have tried comping on an ipad and a kindle HD and its hard work - a lap top with a mouse is so much eaiser and quicker as I can open several tabs at once and also use hot keys to close them, scroll direct to bottom of page etc). Roboform doesn't work as well on the tablets either... However, I sometimes scroll through facebook just liking and sharing comps or tweeting on the tablet as I find this easier.£2021 in 2021... £253.86/£20210

I have an ipad (a lucky comping win!) but, apart from C2Ws when I can be bothered, i use my laptop for comping along with a wireless mouse that works on the sofa arm. I prefer it for the typing, being able to use roboform and how easy it is to sort out bookmarks.0

I used my kindle HD to enter competition don't have any problems,
when I go on sites it fills in my information but don't ask me how, as it just happened by chance
So I find I can enter quick on it then I could on my pc0 -
I have a Hudl2, comping takes forever on it, I much prefer a desktop PC and mouse.
I'm sure its something you get used to though, and probably get quicker at it as you go, but it just annoys me! You can get keyboards and mice for ipads though, might be an option for some.I just enter and forget...hoping to win something!0 -
I was lucky to win an ipad mini and I hate using it for comping. Mainly because with tabbed browsing it has to reload each tab whenever you flick from tab to tab.
Plus I don't have auto fill or ad blocker on it.
It is helpful for quickly going through the forum and red-crossing the comps I'm not interested in though. I leave the ones I want to enter unmarked and fire up the laptop to enter them.
Maybe its just because I'm not used to it but it seems to take so much longer to enter on ipad, esp with twitter links on here that I have to open up in the app to be able to follow the account.
My rec would be to stick to a laptop if you want to comp.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0
