Concrete calculator

Hi,
I am doing a garden extension project, and in the process of buying concrete materials. Basically I need 7 cubic meter of footings, and another 3 cubic meter of concrete needed for slab.
My builder said he needs 1 large bag of ballast (850 kgs) for 1 cubic meter of concrete, and 150 kgs of cement for each bulk bag of Ballast.
The cheapest ballast I found is around £ 35, that means £350 for ballast. and the cheapest Cement I found is £6.18 for 1kgs which means roughly £90 cement.
Are these calculations and prices normal ?

That's a lot for someone to mix! I'd get it pumped in as the labour and time end up meaning little or no saving, but that's just me!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

B&Q have 25Kg cement for £4.30 a bag on quantities of 5 or more.0

yes, just found that Wickes has a price of £4 per bag of cement. 60 of them cost around 240.
They have also ballast which costs £40 per bag. and In total it makes £640.
I am not sure what might be the best price I can get for ready mix pumped ?0 -
Your builder is wrong
10 cubic meter of concrete = 20 ton ballast0 -
I believe, I need to find maybe loose ballast left in my front garden otherwise it is not going to be cheap.0

does anybody have an idea about cost of a loose ballast in North London area?0

Pumped concrete is about £100 a cubic metre. Your builder is going to spend forever mixing.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

1 cubic meter of concrete weighs 2.4 tonnes

Pump it! With the builder on a day rate, I'm sure he'd love to (or pay a labourer to) hand mix 10 cubic metres (10,000 litres), 90 litres at a time (plus rental of the mixer plus 'leccy and cups of tea plus inconvenience), but if you can get a specialist to mix it, deliver it and pour it, it should be a MUCH faster and more consistent job!0
