Should I wax or seal an engineered wood floor?

So we have had our kahrs flooring downstairs for 3 years now - even though it was bought on ebay it is still pretty much immaculate - we have trained our 4 yr old well
we have since also bought (ebay again) some unnamed engineered floor for the bedroom - the last board is about to go in. It seems it had been glued before and it has been a nightmare to say the least to scrape off glue and try and get a tight fit. Floating , glueless fitting
My question is - to ensure waterproofing and also resistance to wear
do we now use a a sealer eg liberon wood floor sealer or wax or both? and what brands would you recommend?
Google searches have left me in a tizz so im hoping fellow trusty mse-ers can advise me!
PS we would probably seal/floor the kahrs floor too as child 2 is a monster and has created alot of dents and pot holes in the floor already!!!!
