Money laundering hassle

This follows on, but not related to my first post (not having much look with solicitors)
I am after buying my own house and cash is in place. I have provided solicitor with two seperate forms of 'photo ID, bank statement, endless utility bills. Now he wants a copy from the solicitor stating that the money is in place (although the other solicitor is still holding the money - previous post) and that it has come from inheritance and not dealing E's in Ibiza.
Have I to produce this letter although I am loathed to have to do so.
Thanx again!

Depends if you want to buy the property or not, if you don't then tell the solicitor where to stick his request, if you do then provide the letter. Or ask your MP (you may need to wait until May in case your current MP isn't elected again) to rewrite the money laundering laws.0

Why do you have such a problem with producing a letter proving where the money is coming from?
If all is up front then just go along with what is being asked.
Or is it just that perhaps you are feeling rebellious about having to "toe the line".... sometimes it just is what it is, and means complying with the rules.0 -
'Toeing the line' may have a little to do with it and if I HAVE to do then I WILL do but I feel that I have already provided more than enough to fulfil Customer Due Diligence.0
-
Everything you have provided so far confirms your identity/where you live etc but does not confirm where the money has come from so of course the letter is required.
Just do it and stop whining about everything for goodness sake!0 -

The tooting popular front lives on.0

I really don't know what the hell your problem is. I asked a question regarding IF I had to provide such evidence. The usual clueless dingbats, those who Judge were bang on my case, well apparently.....you are wrong. I damn well don't. What a waste of a days post,in the apparent belief someone, somewhere could put me right. Lawsociety put me right. Should have done it in the first place0

Nice try ...... I suggest you get back under your bridge :rotfl:0

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm deeply hurt by your cutting remark ..... not
If you lack the intellectual capability to understand and comply with the buying process then maybe you shouldn't be doing it.
You remind me of Bonnie Langford's famous line "I'll scream and scream and scream until I make myself sick ...... and I can :j0
