HSBC current account

Hi
I had a current account with HSBC which i switched for Yorkshire bank for the incentive. However, I want my hsbc account back now. I already got a null balance savings account with them, so i could easily apply online
Is it better to apply in store or online? Cause my credit rating is probably not great, I am thinking it might be better to do it store (last time i opened my account i provided a bank statement from my other bank to open an account with them)
Any thoughts? It couldn't matter at all

What is your reasoning for wanting to go back to HSBC?
I left after many years as a loyal customer as their rates are poor. Admittedly I have no idea of what their CS is like as my accounts are always kept in good order and I never had any issues with Midland when I was with them.0 -
I want the Advance account, cause of the Reg Saver @6%
and the ISA @1.5% + the save together.0 -
I'm no expert on if that's a good deal as I don't have an account anymore so don't know if it would be worth it rate wise, but have you looked at current accounts that pay interest? The TSB for example pays 5% on savings up to £20000

You do know Yorkshire Bank offer 2% on up to 3K?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

yes, I dont have TSB's, but I have a lloyds @4% maxed and the Nationwide's @5% maxed and york maxed (the promo rate will end in less that a month though)
That's why I need to put more that 2k in an account, hence the ISA.
When they do a credit check, would the acceptance criteria for the advance account be higher?0 -
I think the only extra criteria is pay in at least £1750 but this doesn't have to be all salary. All that glitters is not gold.0

back to my original question do you think there is any benefit for me to do the application in store? (credit score reasons)
or do it online?0 -
The only real benefit would be doing everything there and then if they want extra ID or you to sign something.
If you think you may get declined, then there may be an embarrassment factor in person.back to my original question do you think there is any benefit for me to do the application in store? (credit score reasons)

You cant open an advance account on line. It is either telephone applications or in branch. Though if you want to do it in branch , you got to ring them up to make an appointment. So you may as well make a telephone application anyway. Although, be prepared for a 45 min conversation.0
