Transferring a Private Plate from SORN Car

Hi,
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but before I start spending money to get my old Fiesta back roadworthy, which has been declared SORN for 7 years now, is there any way of transferring my private plate to a new car without getting the other taxed, MOT'd and insured?
Regards
Mike

Conditions for transferring a registration number
You can’t transfer a registration number:- starting with ‘Q’ or ‘NIQ’ for Northern Ireland registered vehicles
- if it will make the vehicle it’s being transferred to look younger
- registered with DVLA
- available for inspection
- of a type that needs an MOT or heavy goods vehicle (HGV) test certificate
Both vehicles should be currently taxed. However, if the vehicle that currently has the registration number is not taxed, you can still apply as long as:- its vehicle tax has run out in the last 12 months
- there’s no break between the date the vehicle tax runs out and the start of the SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification)
You can get tax without insurance now though ! WIN !"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

Good about insurance tho!
I guess for tax u need a valid MOT, and for that it must be roadworthy, still money to spend then!0 -

Unless you know some one who does MOT's by post.
Without insurance you won't be able to get it to and from the MOT place unless you hire a trailer or the garage can collect and drop off for a fee, so probably easier and maybe cheaper to take out one day insurance when the time comes."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

Yeah, I'll be able to sort that out.
First though I need to drop the fuel tank to replace the pump! All good fun lol0 -
You don't need insurance to buy tax, but you DO need to have insurance at all times a vehicle is taxed.0
