This is the first time ive been on a forum recently I asked for a better dual bill from NPower on a better tariff and after giving figures got an astonishing £80 a month reduction apparently I was on an economy 7 type tariff even though Id never had storage heaters and the original signing up was done by a rep would I be up for a substantial refund.

Refund?
You pay the price according to the tariff you are on at the time.
£80 a month saving??? I don't even pay £80 a month!
Use a comparison site to find the best deal for you. I strongly suspect there are even greater savings to be had than nPower are offering
Look into the possibility of separate suppliers too - it can be cheaper.
Edit: If what you are saying is you currently have an E7 meter, yet you are better off on a single rate tariff, then I suggest you ask nPower to change the meter for you (if they have not already done so). nPower do not charge for such a meter change, which can't be said for every supplier0 -

never ever use or ask the company your with for a better deal, ALWAYS use a comparison site, and then make your decision. as other poster said, you will prob find a much better deal.0
