Credit cards on gambling websites - counts as a cash advance

I'm assuming there's none left which class it as a purchase now? Last I was aware of was Barclaycard, which only changed a few years ago?0

Pokerstars (i think) were issuing their own card a few years ago which didn't count em as cash advances, but haven't anything of it for years.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
LBM 28/1/15 total debt - [STRIKE]£23,410[/STRIKE] 24/3/16 total debt - £7,298

But what you actually do with your card shouldn't be known to credit scoring? Only the balance, the limit and your payment history is known surely?
Note quite. Some CRA reports flag if there have been cash advances during the month.
I use CCs to get cash all the time (Clarity/Zero overseas because they are fee/loading free). I have no problem getting credit. So I can only assume that these flags only present a problem when combined with other factors - eg your up to limits (so people could distressed and getting advances to pay minimums), you have missed payments or you are only paying the minimums.
In any case, cash advances + gambling are services offered by CCs. It would be a bit daft if a "normal" level of such usage was seen as being so bad!0 -
I think the reason for this is that you can only technically gamble "money", so the amount of the bet has to be withdrawn as "money" before it is wagered.0
