• I feel a little more confident about complaining now thank you. Im still hopeful that it is a mistake but not really what you want when you are pregnant and hormonal!

Hi Clockwork12,

I can understand that it's distressing to see a new default recorded when you have been working hard to clear your report.

We would expect a default for a mobile phone to be treated in the same way as any other default, in that the company should give you notification of their intent to default the account so that you have the opportunity to bring the account up to date.

As the default was recorded before the bill was sent we would be happy to dispute this with them on your behalf.

If you contact us with your details then we can get the dispute raised with them for you.

Kind Regards
Neil

Are you sure it's a default and not just recorded as a missed payment?

My husband called when he got in from work and 3 told him that they have removed the default and that it will be removed from my account in 3 months time as they work in months of three. No real explanation given other than they work in 3monthly blocks....either way if they do as they have said (have taken name, ref and time) then i am happy with the outcome. Not so happy that they left me in a right state all morning! Luckily we are not looking to sort our mortgage until the summer after the excitement of the baby.
Thank you for your advice, i am hopeful that i will not need to use it!

Presumably the missed payment will still be recorded?

• I'm not too fussed that a missed payment may be shown as arguably i was late in paying by a few weeks (although they did not say that it would), it was more the default i was concerned about that will stay on for 6 years. We will be applying for a mortgage at the end of the summer you see.

yep it def was a default it is still on my credit file, they have said it will be 3 months before it is removed . I wouldnt have been getting my knickers in such a twist if it wasnt!

A missed payment will also stay for 6 years from the account closure date, but is less severe.
