scary van insurance quote, what should I do?

I can see no need to mention the fact that the van will at some point, contain a tank full of water.
I purchased a LWB Hi-top LDV Convoy 6 years back and looked at insurance quotes without NCD. Cheapest was Direct Line at £350 fully comp. The one thing that impressed me though was that the van insurance docs stated that the van was insured for 'the business of the owner'.Never Knowingly Understood.

Im based in East london but will try and move out of london a bit to find work and easier parking. Getting a tralier will not be a realistic option in an urban area.
I will need the van big enough to store all my equipments, ladders, water tanks etc. I will start on ladder so no need water tank for now so maybe i don't need to mention that to them?
So its also cheaper if I just put it down as "private use"?
I understand that im new and never had a vehicle before but £4000 Is just too much. I will also need to consider other costs such as petrol, road tax etc0
