Didn't get original parking fine letter...

Hi, I just received a letter in the post about a parking fine. I'm not disputing it although it was a case of bad luck - I parked in the residential area on my street a few days after I received my permit, but still had an old permit from a previous house in my car and put the wrong one in the window!!

However, the letter states that it is charging me additional money because I did not pay the original fine within 14 days. However I never received the previous letter informing me of the fine!

Can I challenge this? Has anyone successfully done so? I've no qualms about paying the fine but resent paying more than I have to...

Unfortunately that thread does not apply as it's a council fine for a council run residents permit scheme.

No offence meant but it helps to have relevant facts unfortunately my crystal ball is on the blink.

You are better off posting on the pepipoo forums council section. Make sure you scan the ticket and post all the paperwork up. When I say all I mean all including the bits you think you don't need to.

    Good luck with it.

Apologies, I did state residents parking area which where I live are council run, although I now realise that there are some residents parking zones for private complexes that might be managed by a private company - it didn't occur to me at the time of posting!

I didn't get a ticket on my car either if that makes a difference, just a letter in the post.

Thanks for the suggestion I will have a look.
