PCN Retail Park Pontypridd

Hi all,
Back on 17th December 2014 I parked in a local retail park for some Christmas shopping. Being a busy time of year I spent a total of 2hrs 22 mins in the carpark. Apparently there is a 2hr limit, but the signs are hard to find and read.
Couple of weeks later I received a PCN from Parking Eye.
After asking around, mainly on a local Facebook page, I was told to ignore any correspondence and PE will eventually go away.
So I stuck my head in the sand and ignored the reminders from PE.
About two weeks ago I received a 'Letter before County Court Claim', so I sent PE a template letter I found on Parking Cowboys.
Thinking that would be the end of it, I was surprised to received a letter yesterday from PE stating that because I had not appealed within 28 days my letter I sent was irrelevant and they did not supply me with a POPLA code.
PE now make a big deal about Parkingeye v Beavis.
My question is, can I still appeal after this amount of time?
I don't fancy a visit in court but I'm loath to pay them a penny.
Advise please...

seeing as you ignored it you are unlikely to get a popla code out of PE now

ie:- you missed their 28 day appeal window so fell into the trap with the spikes at the bottom

ignore has not been advised for over 2 years now, seeing as the law changed 2.5 years ago

in future, appeal, so read the NEWBIES sticky thread for more help and advice, near the top of the forum

it sounds like you may get an MCOL now, from Northampton, in which case I doubt you will ignore it or you default into a CCJ if you lose and dont pay up

you really need to learn the rules of the game and appeal in future

Facebookers are talking **** because at the moment PE issue tens of thousands of court claims per annum, possibly 40 to 50 thousand a year I believe, so go away they dont

Perhaps you could ask the idiots on Facebook who advised you to ignore it if they would defend you in court.

There is currently a case going through the court of appeal that may persuade them not to try court but the outcome is a few weeks away.

If say the wife was driving or vice versa you can name the driver and they will get their own parking charge that you can then beat at POPLA by following the instructions on here.
It's either that or your going to the county court for a CCJ.
    use certified postage.
